The Montessori Center offers programs for children who are 2.5*- 6 years.
Montessori is a three year prospectus in which the skills a child learns one year are built upon in the following years. Typically, children start at the age of three and continue through Kindergarten.
*Child must turn 3 by December 1st
The academic year begins at the end of August and ends in May. The school will be closed for all major holidays, parent-teacher conferences, staff in-service days, and breaks. A year round calendar will be given out each Spring to help parents prepare for TMCs programming dates.
academic Year + summer camp
Summer camp is an 8 week program starting mid-June and running through the first week of August. Days are spent immersed in nature and exploration. Children will enjoy their time gardening, learning from their "farm" experience, creating works of art from nature, interacting with guest speakers representing a plethora of disciplines and talents, and having free discovery play in our beautiful nature playground.
Academic year + summer camp + intersessions
A year round schedule has been designed for parents that require child care during the program intersessions.
During the weeks before summer camp, the three weeks after summer camp, parent-teacher conferences, and staff in-service days, childcare will be available on a limited seat basis. The childcare provider may or may not be Montessori trained but will be a qualified and trusted employee of The Montessori Center.
Our day begins at 8:30am and ends at 3:30pm.
Parents that need to drop off their child early or pick up late are offered an extended day option. Early drop off starts at 7:30am with a final pick-up at 5:30pm. The early morning teacher and late afternoon teacher may or may not be Montessori trained but will be a trusted employee of The Montessori Center.
half day program
Half day programs are a recognized Montessori option. For those parents that do not require a full day program we offer a half day curriculum from 8:30-11:30pm. Children must come 5 days a week if you choose a half day program.
We recommend parents discuss their individual scheduling or child's educational needs with The Montessori Center's Director. Customized days and times that are fitting with the Montessori program are possible.
